Ted King's DIYGravel- my ride stats
Owner of Gravel Tours and Lead Guide
I was born and raised in Vermont, but had the opportunity to live in other regions of the country. Those included the mid-west and Florida. I served in the United States Coast Guard, stationed in Kodiak, Alaska and also lived in Bellingham, WA, where I bought my first Kona. All of the traveling was great and also really let me realize how badly I wanted to return home.
When I moved back to Vermont, I worked as the head mechanic at a really cool bike shop in Bennington. It was there that I met my wife, Roseanne. Since starting Gravel Tours, I have become a board member of the Vermont Bike packers chapter of the Vermont Mountain bike Association (VMBA). Our chapter established the Super 8, a 500+ mile bike packing route through the entire state of Vermont. We had a very successful mass start from the steps of Montpelier last September, with this years planned for September 25th. On Friday July 3rd, I completed Ted King's DIYGravel, see the video of Ted's ride here.
Roseanne handles travel planning and drives SAG. She also leads womens' tours and is a vital part of Gravel Tours.
Roseanne has lived in Southern Vermont for 25 years. She has a chiropractic practice in Manchester, specializing in kinesiology and sports medicine.
Roseanne got her first taste of mountain biking during her time at chiropractic college, and it became even more her passion once in the hills of Vermont. That love for riding is what brought her and Kris together.
She has been riding mountain, gravel and road alongside Kris for 30 years. Now their two boys share that same love for riding!
