Owner of Gravel Tours and Lead Guide
I was born and raised in Vermont, but had the opportunity to live in other regions of the country. Those included the mid-west and Florida. I served in the United States Coast Guard, stationed in Kodiak, Alaska and also lived in Washington State. All of the traveling was great and also really let me realize how badly I wanted to return home.
When I moved back to Vermont, I worked as the head mechanic at a really cool bike shop in Bennington. It was there that I met Roseanne. We traveled all over New England, riding mountain bikes. I started riding more than ever, all over the southern portion of the state. I dipped my toes in mountain bike racing and was really good at it, and I credit not "training"-- weighing my food and heart rate monitors -- but just riding countless hours, fast! Since racing, I have become a board member of the Vermont Bikepackers chapter of Vermont Mountainbike Association (VMBA) helping to establish a 500+ mile bikepacking route through the entire state of Vermont. I have participated in an endurance bikepacking race around the Adirondack Park called the T.A.T.R last September.
A grueling 550+ mile route going as fast as you can, which often meant riding in the middle of the night! I hope to take Gravel Tours clients on bikepacking expeditions, as well as riding dirt roads or singletrack trails throughout this amazing state!
